Watersports can be safe and fun for enthusiasts at every skill level. The Operator's
Manual will help enhance your enjoyment of the sport, and alert you to some
of the potentially dangerous conditions that can arise in any watersport. Follow
these guidelines to make sure your day is safe and fun: Before you go:
- Read this manual thoroughly.
- Only use your Ski Tube with a responsible, experienced boat operator. Make sure the tow boat is properly maintained and safe.
- Teach anyone using your Ski Tube how to attach the tow rope, ride the Ski Tube and maintain it.
- Never use attachments not supplied by the manufacturer and designed for the Ski Tube.
- Review beforehand how riders will be retrieved from the water. Note the location of life jackets, VHF radios, cell phones, fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, and flares.
Tow rope care:
- Always use an appropriate rope designed for watersports, and inspect it before each use. Check the rope and connector for frays, cuts, sharp edges, knots, or wear before each use. Stress on the tow rope varies with the weight and number of passengers, and the design of the tube. To avoid breaks and injuries, replace rope if any such conditions exist.
- Do not use tow rope made with any elastic materials, which increase the chance of breakage and snap-back injuries.
- Use a shorter tow rope for children to prevent them from gaining too much speed when turning. Never tow with a rope shorter than 20 feet, which exposes the rider to carbon monoxide exhaust.
- Store your tow rope out of the sun. Sunlight deteriorates any rope.
